Competition Free Exercise Floor 'Apollo Diagonal II'

The new Janssen-Fritsen Top Competition free exercise floor ‘Apollo Diagonal II’ is a totally new concept with the Cross Flex System, X-FS. The direction of the gymnasts’ exercise is mostly on the diagonals. This 2nd generation floor has diagonal floor boards. Each landing and take-off zone has its own floor section. A perfect balance between surface elasticity and durability is achieved by this carefully designed lay-out. The cross laid foam layers with different dynamic characteristics further optimise this floor to become a truly new generation of free exercise floors.

The ‘Apollo Diagonal II’ floor was used at the Olympic Games Beijing 2008. The Cross Flex System, X-FS is built up from diagonal floor sections with homogeneous dynamics over the entire floor. A predictable reaction on landing and a considerably increased lifespan of the floor are the result of this innovation. The overall rebound and absorption values are within the FIG 2004 specifications and give the gymnast a soft feel with a very high energy return. This first of the next generation floors with its real innovative design is a revolutionary improvement compared to the existing old generation free exercise floors.
